The Importance of Southeast Asian Staff As one of California’s most highly "refugee-impacted" counties, San Joaquin County (SJC) has 67 refugees per 1,000 residents. The largest sector of that population is Southeast Asians. This group represents more than 7 different languages, the most prominent being Hmong, Cambodian, Vietnamese, and Laotian. Southeast Asians and Pacific Islanders are the fastest growing population in the United States, currently making up 4% of the total population and expected to reach 10% of the population by the year 2050. This is important to SJC businesses because in the next few years they will need to have skilled bi-lingual workers who can service this rapidly growing population. LKA will carefully screen all applicants to ensure that only the most highly motivated employees are selected to fill the jobs created under this program.
