Lao Khmu Association is the agency of the Center for Employment Opportunity (CEO). CEO is an alliance of five community-based organizations, which include Cambodian Community of Stockton, Lao Family Community, San Joaquin Indochinese Association, Vietnamese Voluntary Foundation, and Lao Khmu Association, Inc. These five agencies, working as one, provide case management services to San Joaquin County CalWORKs' recipients. The mission of this program is to assist all welfare recipients in becoming economically self-sufficient and independent.
Services of CEO include: Client appraisal Supportive services
Assistance with childcare referrals to licensed childcare centers or family childcare.
Assistance with transportation.
Assistance with ancillary items needed to sustain employment. (e.g. clothing, tools. and equipment)
Employment placement
Training - Building marketable skills to maximize employment potential.
Specialized job retention services - Counseling and supportive services
Activities focus on: Increasing employment or participation in county-approved, work-related activities.
Improving employment through training at participating county centers, such as WorkNet, Stockton Adult School, Vocational Centers, Goodwill Industries, Good Shepherd Training, Woodruff R.O.C, San Joaquin Delta College, Andon College, and Heald College.
Assistance in developing a Welfare-to-Work plan, participation in Job Readiness/Job Search activities, or attendnace at training workshops. On site social services and job counseling

Pre-screen applicants to ensure only qualified referrals are made.
Pre-employment preparation of candidates by interviewing, orienting, and selecting the most qualified applicants.
Implementing and directing follow-up services for personal growth and development.
